Team adventure

Max Seigal works as a travel photographer for National Geographic Expeditions, and travels the world photographing remote and exotic destinations everywhere from the Arctic to Antarctica.
In addition to his work with NatGeo, he is an avid paraglider, mountaineer, climber, and hiker, and enjoys spending his free time seeking out adventures in the world's most beautiful destinations. When he's not on the road, he stays at his home in Boulder, Colorado, where he enjoys hiking and paragliding on their local mountain in the summer, and skiing in the Rocky Mountains in the winter. He spends as much time as possible outdoors, whether it's camping, rock climbing or paragliding.

How long have you been flying?

I've been flying since 2016, but thanks to travel and all the time spent outside, I have about 200 hours of flying time per year 🙂

Your harness

Kolibri for light hiking, walking and flying, bivouac flight.

Kanibal Race II for long days of cross country 🙂

Why Kortel Design?

By far, they make the most comfortable harnesses I've ever flew with. They are also incredibly well thought out and every little detail has its importance to make them functional and practical in addition to being comfortable (eg: Pocket design, aerodynamics, etc...).

Your best flight?

Flying over the glaciers and the great mountains is one of my favorite.... I have in mind a memorable flight in Disentis, Switzerland, during the World Cup in 2017 where we flew over huge Rocky walls and giant glaciers, it was one of the most beautiful and amazing flights of my life.

Any plans?

I always dream of the future big project based on my work and travels with National Geographic. My next trip with them is in Norway, and I would love to have a wing with me to attempt some big flights there.
