Laurie GNEOVESE

Team competition

Laurie is an avid paraglider enthusiast. Born in a flying family, she quickly started cross country and competition, after moving to the U23 division, she continued her progression within the French division. French Champion then World Cup winner in 2014 and 2017, she loves paragliding and competition but above all the sport.

She touches everything: cycling, skiing, cross-country skiing; it's the long outdoor outings in the mountains that she loves. Paragliding instructor at the "Passagers du vent" and physiotherapist, she is slowly developing her coaching company for athletes, in the air or on land. After a break last year due to a ruptured cruciate ligament, she will resume in 2020 with a lot of motivation.

How long have you been flying?

I've been flying alone since I was 14, and in tandem with my dad since 8 years old.

Your harness?

A Kanibal Race II for cross country and competition.

Why Kortel Design?

Kortel Design is a pioneering brand in harnesses, the story of a passionate person. It is a local company of human scale, which I like.

Your best flight?

Hard to pick one. My fondest memory was when I was on the return leg of a cross-country flight. We had gone Saint André - Annecy, and a day later, we made a bet to go back and get the car. I remember seeing the take-off from Saint André, at sunset, after a difficult flight full of twists and turns. That's the magic of cross-country flights, sharing thermals and emotions, and feeling the accomplishment when you complete the course .

Any plans?

Enjoy the sky as best I can, blend in with the air mass as many times as possible. A few record attempts in the Alps and some flights that are out of the ordinary.
