Design has expanded and modernised it’s production
facility and thus changed address! Not without a certain nostalgia
for it’s old workshop.
The new Kortel Design
facility is larger and brighter and will allow Denis to keep up
an infernal production rate. It is situated in Sallanches a little
further down the valley.

Design informs you of a potential problem with Kanibal
reserve parachute handles.
Problem: A reserve parachute handle was found to have been
stitched to the bridle linking it to the parachute pod in a defective
manner.
Normally the handle should be attached with stitching in an X or
Y shape. [Picture

Solution
: This
problem is almost certainly due to an oversight at the end of a
(lower) reel of thread and is very probably a unique case.
Advice : Check the reserve parachute handles on Kanibal and
Kamasutra harnesses and pass the information on to people around
you. |

Design informs you of a potential problem with Kanibal
harnesses.
Problem : In certain cases the reserve parachute handle can
be difficult to pull particularly for smaller pilots (it is a matter
of the physical strength required to pull the handle if the movement
is not made away from the harness).
Solution : The system works efficiently for most pilots so
a change is not systematically required. However a new handle that
makes reserve parachute extraction easier can be supplied. The new
model can be supplied free of charge for clients who send us their
old handle.
Advice : Clients can also have the modification made by anyone
in possesion of a sewing machine by following these instructions…soon
available...
Improvement : New harnesses are now all equipped with the
new handle. |

Design informs you of a potential problem with the
K2 harness.
Problem : after prolonged use (more than one year) the Velcro
that covers the reserve parachute pins becomes difficult to open.
Solution : Open and close the Velcro regularly before each
flight in order to reduce its resistance. This issue has been resolved
for harnesses purchased after October 2002.
Improvement : By
way of an improvement Kortel Design proposes its new reserve parachute
handle at a special price. |

Design informs you of a problem of wear on the main
carabiners of the K2
harness.
Problem : If the original maillon rapides (quick links) are
replaced by Zicral carabiners (such as Camp, Sup’Air, ....)
wear can be observed on the carabiners due to contact with the triangular
stainless steel links through which they pass.
Solution :Kortel
Design strongly recommends replacing these carabiners
with the maillon rapides (quick links) supplied with the harness. |

site www.korteldesign.com was awarded 3rd prize by the Haute Savoie
Chamber of Commerce in a contest for websites representing local
industries. The contest was open to all companies with a functional
website.

Cortella took the second place at the PWC in Slovenia
Well
done !Denis took the second at the overall ranking at the last PWC
that happened in Slovenia, Kobarid.
The
french team is first followed by the swiss !

Denis
Cortella won the two first national comp of the year
Fantastic
2006 beginning for Denis Cortella. He won the two first
french national competitions in La Colmiane and in Cluses.
He will be in a good shape for the French National Championship
next September in Moustiers. Congratulations ! |

Cortella is the 2005 French paragliding Champion.
On the Reunion Island Denis repeated his 2004 exploit and retained
the title for another year.
Caroline Brille became
the French female champion for the fourth year running.
